Alumnus Case Study

Godwin Udobassey is a University graduate who was frustrated due to unemployment issue. He tried seeking a job but lack of funds for transportation along with his lack of self-confidence affected him from getting a well-paid job. Prior to WAVE, Godwin had been employed in different firms; four in financial institutions and one in a consultancy firm where his average salary was between the range of N35, 000 - N65, 000. He heard about WAVE from an alumnus, Mr Bassey and his strong belief about getting a job through WAVE inspired him to enroll for the programme. During the training exercise, his most significant challenge was the transport fare because of the distance; he lives in Alagbado but he overcame it by borrowing from friends. He did his job-shadow at The Orchid Bistro Restaurant Ikeja where he learnt the essence of trustworthy, and how to think fast in a difficult situation.
