Ephraim Gaius (Batch 2.1) Waiter/Coffee Barrister Hans and Rene Long before WAVE, Ephraim was working as a Technician but was not getting paid for his job, so he had to leave since he was processing his admission and needed money to do this. Then he heard about WAVE through the CDA chairman of his local government area and decided to go for the training. After the selection and his orientation, he continued with the training and said how surprised he was at the difference he saw in the programme. Dorothy Bawa (Batch 17) Production Manager Omnutri, Ikoyi Dorothy was engaged in training on bead making before she heard about WAVE from a friend, Patience Ezoh,an alumnus. She went through the training process as everyone else, graduating and moving on to her job shadow at Golden Tulip, Festac Town. This was a transforming exposure for her she revealed and said that it created the opportunity for her to utilize the soft skills she acquired while on her training. Soft skills such as effective communication and team work among others proved to be very useful. Going through the academy caused a lot of positive changes in her life. When asked what her challenges were during her training, she said it was the aspect of having to keep up with time . Jennifer Ugoeze Eat Green by Mint company Waiter Jennifer  had just completed her university education and was looking for a job and also improve her skills. She heard about WAVE from an alumnus and although she was sceptical, she applied to the programme. Some of the challenges Jennifer faced during the programme included;keeping up with time and waking up earlier than her regular hours. However, the classes were interesting as she got to meet new people and build relationship which somewhat made up for the challenges. Tobi Shittu Employer-Sweet Kiwi Role- Manager Tobi applied to WAVE to build himself and make enough money to save for his long-term goal of being a farmer. Prior to WAVE,he was a job seeker. He heard about WAVE online and registered immediately. Tobi's most challenging experience at WAVE was the discipline;enforcement of rules and the penalties for each one but I enjoyed the challenge because that's what my body needed. Austin Nnaemeka Employer- Starmart supermarket Role- Procurement Officer At 19, Austin Nnaemeka h as occupied three (3) positions; cashier, inventory officer and more recently procurement officer within the space of one year and a half. Austin heard about WAVE at a summer program (IMPACT). He had just finished his secondary school education and was looking for a job to pass time. He applied to the programme and was a member of the first set of graduates of the academy in Lekki. Austin shared his experience about the program; his challenges and surprises. Some of these challenges included adhering to the rules and facing the uncompromising penalties of breaking any of the rules. Ayodeji Anthony Olatunde. Mint Restaurant Waiter Ayodeji worked as a barbecue chef but left his job owing to personal reasons. He heard about WAVE from an alumnus who shared a flier with him during our community outreach. Ayodeji applied to the program for job placement opportunities  that would offer him the chance to obtain new skills in his chosen field(catering), and to also learn the basic skill-set to excel on such job(s).  His experience during the WAVE program was both revealing and refreshing. He met with other individuals who were also in the program to learn different skills sets to fit into potential job opportunities in the hospitality industry, and got to network with like-minded and otherwise, sharing experiences from prior engagements and backgrounds.
