IFEOLUWA is a highly determined and ambitious person who is willing to climb the ladder up to the pinnacle of success. He had been employed three different times before he was undergoing the WAVE program. His highest remuneration was N20,000. However, He wanted more out of life because he was ambitious and the money was too meager to cater for needs. Although he had challenges securing something more worthwhile because according to him, “I do not know when there is a vacancy in a particular place and it is difficult getting connected to the right place”, he was optimistic that life was good and he had faith everything will be fine. Providence smiled on him when his friend introduced him to WAVE Academies. He bought the idea because of the potential job opportunities he would get if he completed the training successfully. A recent poster on popular question-and-answer website Quora asked how one could get a student loan with a low or zero interest rate—in Nigeria. The question attracted a fair amount of expected incredulity and a few clever quips. After all, everyone knows there’s no financial aid (i.e., student loans) in the Nigerian education system. But there are merit-based grants; the federal and state governments offer Nigerian students scholarships for study within and outside Nigeria, as do local and foreign companies, NGOs, and other governments. The Quora question does demonstrate how sought-after higher education is—the country’s 150 universities received 10 million applications between 2010 and 2015 and Nigerian immigrants have the highest levels of education in the United States, far ahead of whites and Asians—and how inadequate current assistance is for Africa’s most populous country. Before WAVE How many jobs have you previously done before joining WAVE? What kind of job? I have been on 2 jobs before WAVE. The jobs were Sales Representative and Office Assistant. MEET OMOLOLA AROLUKE

Omolola got to know about WAVE through a sensitization programme that was held at Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government. Before WAVE, she was a budding entrepreneur who was optimistic about making a big break. She decided to join WAVE after her interview. She learned how to be convincing to potential employers/clients within seconds so she was intrigued by this. She trained at the academy situated at Yaba.  She admits that the WAVE training wasn't all rosy for her because of the various challenges that the training provided. She harbored self-doubt at first but was determined to complete the training.  The skills that she paid close attention to were Time Management, Communication Skills, and multi-tasking. After the training, she job shadowed at cakes and creams. It was an eye-opener because she put everything she had learned to use. She learned how to make cakes and pastries within a short period. Opeyemi is an epitome of a philosophy that we believe in-Start small. Learn fast. Grow big. From being an intern at Nestle Nigeria Plc. to becoming a supply chain/project manager at a restaurant, and now, an International market trainee at a logistics firm- a job that matches his desire. Before gaining these work experiences, Opeyemi had just completed his youth service and was still 'trying to figure out what direction to go with respect to job search and career path'. He enrolled at WAVE after an advice from his best friend who had just finished the program and secured a job.'It was the option I had than staying at home to wait for a call for an interview after sending series of applications.
