"Clearly there are not enough jobs to absorb the 40+ million unemployed young people in West Africa alone, but this does not mean we cannot start with filling positions that do exist. The young workplace entrants of today are the potential employers and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

 After working with three different establishments, Favour could only make meagre savings for herself. She searched for better opportunities but her efforts proved unproductive. This was difficult! The fact that she lacked information at critical points was the genesis of the situation. This worried her because ends needed to be met but the means were unavailable. She finally got the opportunity to come to WAVE through the recommendation of a friend and decided to go on with the program, as the Ajah centre which she attended, was not much of a distance to her place of abode.  The fact that she hungered for more knowledge about skills relating to better opportunities with respect to the hospitality industry was her drive. "I wished to train myself and improve; WAVE offered all these"- Raphael Okonkwo (WAVE Alumnus)

  Alumni impact story-  Raphael Okonkwo Raphael is an interesting young man, vibrant and willing to learn. He stretches himself beyond his abilities and strives to move beyond limitations. Raphael   had just completed his secondary school education and he was going through a computer literacy training when he heard about WAVE. Since he aspires to be a television host and a presenter, he searched for employment opportunities in that field, but no one was ready to employ him because he did not have the required academic qualifications. In other words, the major constraint for him was his level of education. Therefore, he resolved to working hard in a similar field in order to save enough to get the necessary degree or qualification for his dream and also “augment family expenses.” Raphael heard about WAVE through town - storming; an outreach activity where WAVE is evangelized in different neighborhoods.
